Seven Days Working Dolls - Somebody Pinch Me Now

I just have to write a quick blog about my greatest Ebay find ever!

I found these little dollies on Ebay on Wednesday night.

The seller had the cover of the box as the first pic, so you didn't see these little lovelies at first glance. Big mistake!

I clicked on the listing to wee what was inside. I nearly lost my mind.

They were asking $19.99 as the first bid. I immediately bid and then sent the seller a note if they would accept a "buy it now".

No reply!

They were ending Friday night at 8:00 - so of course I sat in front of the computer for an hour!

I can't even tell you how high my bid was. I even upped it at the last second. I considered using a sniping service, but I didn't want to pay the fee and give them my password.

The rest is history - I paid about $30 with shipping and they arrived this morning!

I'm still waiting to wake up from these dream...

My Purple Thumb!

My Purple Thumb!
Originally uploaded by Reyney
Last Sunday were the playoffs for my softball team. I foul-tipped a ball off my right thumb. It was swollen, and purple, and painful, and yucky! But we did win the game!

I had to visit my hand doc today for my last check up on my left index finger anyway (which I broke way back of February 29th!) It's ok - still feels a little kooky, but because I crushed all the nerves, it's going to take a long time to feel normal.

So, I figured since I was there - I might as well see how my thumb is. After my $35 x-ray and visit co-pay, I learned that it is not broken! YAY! Just have to ice it and take some painkillers.

But it hurts...

So no sewing or crocheting or nice neat handwriting from me for a while...

Dear Ebay Sellers,

Dear Ebay sellers,

Please stop having to go out of town unexpectedly when you're supposed to be shipping my purchases.

Thank you!

This is so frustrating! Within two days - I've received the following notes from sellers:

"I'm sorry but I had to go out of town for a death in the family for 4 days, .. I hope to get it out tomorrow. I'll email you when I've hit the post office. Sincerely, Lisa"

"Hi again Renee...I am so sorry I had an emergency and had to leave town before this ended. I will send priority in the morn. Thanks again!!"

PLUS - I had to contact the first seller - because it was a week after my payment and I hadn't heard anything!

I HATE THIS! What is the problem? Maybe the fact they all live in TOWNS???

Six Things That Make Me Happy

Well, since Andi of the lovely Superminx tagged me in her blog, I'm going to give this a try.

Six things that make me happy are:

1. My Fiance William and the fact that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

2. My doll collection.

3. Sushi, pizza, Indian, Thai, cucumbers, mango and avocado.

4. How I Met Your Mother - the TV show

5. Friends and just being with them

6. My students

Now, I am tagging some people:

Danielle, Jana, Cyndy - if you're reading this ladies, what are 6 things that make you happy?

Bunka Bunka

Ok - my latest obsession is the Japanese Bunka Doll. I don't really know much about them. I believe there is some specific method to making them and there are definitely vintage ones out there.

The one thing I do know is that they are not for sale in the US. I don't know why. I wish someone from Japan would market them here.

So, I placed an Alchemy order on Etsy. (Alchemy is a part of Etsy that allows you to order something that you would like to be made).

3 bids were placed on my order and I accepted one from http://www.kollectionbyketura.etsy.com/. She actually made 3 different ones, and well, because I love them so much - I bought 2! Aren't they so cute! I named them Marci and Macy - my American Bunkas!

I also just purchased one from http://www.boopsiedaisy.etsy.com/ It's on it's way - so no pics just yet.

AND I am working with the lovely Gretchen of http://www.shop66.etsy.com/ to acquire one from Japan on Rinkya.

My my my - when it rains it certainly does pour! I love them!

Results of the What is Your Favorite Color Poll?

Here are the results:

1 vote for yellow at 11%
4 votes for green at 44%
1 vote for blue at 11%
2 votes for purple at 22%
1 vote for brown at 11%

They add up to 99% ???

I voted for green. I think that will be the color of my bridesmatrons.

To answer my question from last week. Most of my students love the color blue. I can never have enough blue construction paper to go around.

Next poll:
